Trying to make a DIY tree Shaker for pecan trees using a cable and tow strap. Could use some assistance with the fabrication part tying into the pto shaft of the tractor. Any ideas? Example In action |

Build a frame for it. Getcha one of these,  Then grab you a couple pillow block bearings like these,  Next you'll want a short section of splined shaft to run through those bearings.  After that you can get a corresponding flange and fab up some kind of bell crank system.  Doesn't look like an overly complicated set up. Should be able to knock it out pretty handily. |

I bought one off eBay labeled olive shaker three years ago. Took about a month to get through customs. It was on a farm in South Africa. I didn't know they were a big pecan producer until a few years ago. There was a large orchard we passed by every day near our lodge, they were right near the road one day shaking the trees when I saw it. |
