Kinda rare Not the big round double wall one with half moon cup. Only made for a couple of years. Sportsman's Guide has both in stock Single wall canteen that has room for expansion and removable cap so you can boil it to melt ice/snow Cup is much less common and nests. About $5 per set right now vs $80 for the cup on eBay! Covers seem easier to find than the canteen or cup.  |

I would watch Sportsmen's guide website pretty close for the next few weeks and subscribe to their emails. I was gonna order a set a couple of weeks ago and they went out of stock. Then I got an email that they had them in stock. And they turned out to be even cheaper. So I wouldn't be surprised if a few more pop-up on their site in the next week or so. |

FedEx delivered it today. Holy cow, what a hunk of metal. Looks to be unissued. Will have to weigh it, but both the cup and the canteen are so over the top weight wise, no wonder it was dumped so quickly. I pity the fool that was supposed to ruck a pair of these. Upside is you could likely run over it with an Abrams and not dent it. It is most likely the rarest US canteen issued in the past 125 years. Cool piece of history. I saw Natick was experimenting with a new cold weather system in 2020 or so. A one liter Nalgene, nesting cup, and an insulated carrier.  |

I swapped standard caps onto mine and ditched the mask compatible ones. These canteens fit in a std canteen molle carrier if you aren't using the cup. Heavy but, good gear. Attached File |
