Caught some nice bluecats too.
Eaters this time.
75 degrees, figured too hot to hunt, might as well fish.

I haven't heard that term used since I was a teenager, 70 now.

Knocking on 60 myself.

And probably haven't fished for them in 45 years.
Until last year.
Easy way to get some tugging on a line.

I’m looking at the photo and thinking “carp.” Right?

If it pulls, it pulls. Better than not catching.

Yes sir.
I was actually TRYING to catch them.

The big ones keep breaking me off.
May go heavier tomorrow.

Hook 7 landed 4 this morning.
Broke one off, 1 hook straightened, 3rd popped free at bank.

Little better one

Catfishing was SLOW.

Caught a little white perch who somehow managed to.hook himself on a 5/0. So he volunteered to be bait.

Caught a white cat, our native cat.
( Channels and blues were introduced)

Whites are all head , locally know as turd rollers since the REALLY spin/ roll up your gear.

Did have what I assume was a striper grab the perch head and scream about 80 yds of line off, but wasn't hooked.

Beautiful calm, clear morning.
Ramp was slammed, opening day of duck split.

Didn't hear much shooting, most back in early.
Now cloudy and windy.

And even though I posted in FW Fishing, gets a little salty here too.

I just shoot carp with my bow. Bowfishing is more fun than normal fishing imo.  I do like catching carp on rod and reel but I toss them on the bank when I do.
