I thought a formal bear hunting thread would be nice to have. This will be my first spring bear season in some time.

I set a bait a couple of weeks ago and it's been a blast making runs up to check it. It's been hard work and hopefully it will pay off.

I last checked it on Sunday. So far I have only one large color phase boar coming in. He's shown quite a bit of comfort and habituation thus far. If he keeps his consistent pattern I should be able to close the deal.

He doesn't look comfortable yet OP, when he sleeps all day draped over your drum or the log that you drip molasses all over, then he is comfortable...of course this is brown/grizzly bears...

I never did get the color phase bear to get comfortable, but I did bag this big boy the other evening. 6.5-footer and his skull will probably make B&C book.
