I’m in the North East part of Louisiana. Having one of those years where it hasn’t gotten truly cold yet. Conditions must right for the ticks to be hatching out. Been finding one or two crawling on mew every time I get out of the woods. Does anyone have any experience with a spray or something wearable that doesn’t give off a smell that will alert deer? Deer in my area tend to be on the very alert side of things and try not to add to anymore than I already do to alert them I am in the area. |
| I spray my clothes with permethrin and have found it to be effective. Don't buy the aerosol cans, you'll go broke. You can get a more concentrated version in quart bottles and dilute it. I buy it from Tractor Supply and dilute the concentrate 20:1 in a spray bottle. Spray your clothes outside and let them hang out there until they're dry. Wear rubber gloves and don't breathe that shit in. It's also highly toxic to cats until it dries, so be careful if you have cats around. It will last through a few washings. The aerosol cans claim six washings, but I've always played it safe and reapplied about every other washing. |

Permethrin on clothes. Apply at least a day before to let it dry. It lasts for weeks and several washings. It will kill ticks that crawl on treated fabric in 3'. Picaridin on the skin. |
