I have wanted one forever. A opportunity came up where I kinda needed one, like tomorrow kinda thing. Bought a Minelabs Vanquish 360 beginner unit. It was the only thing local in a store aside from Harbor Freight. Found what I needed to find so now I want to get into the hobby more. What else do I "need" ? Any tips, tricks or knowledge you want to share is appreciated ?? |
| Make sure you can legally metal detect where you are BEFORE you do so. Generally speaking, you can’t at battlefield sites and a lot (maybe all) Corps of Engineers property. |

You need a pin pointer to find the target in the hole or plug of dirt and a digger, preferably a specialized narrow shovel that will cut roots made out of strong steel and will not bend or break . Mine is Moly Steel. And the hardest part is finding good places to go that aren't tapped out yet. |
