I'm having trouble sourcing the plastic boxes for ALICE first aid kits. Has anyone found a good alternative that fits in the pouches well? |

I think one of these might work: IFAK pouch nylon insert. You can take a look at the measurements and decide. The measurements listed are for the pouch insert when it’s folded up. I have one of these, and it came as described, new condition. |

Or possibly someone on etsy is selling them. ETA: Harbor freight has a pretty good selection of small boxes. |

| I think this is one area where the modern stuff is better than that old plastic thing. Nowadays you rip the cord and the whole pouch contents becomes accessible. Unless you're re-purposing the container to hold something other than first aid supplies |

Yes, for immediate aid items, modern is better. If I need a tournquet, chest seal or hemostatic dressing, I need it now, and I don't want to fumble fuck with a box. However, my intended use is things like bandaids, triple antibiotic cream, various otc meds. Think camping first aid kit, not gun fight IFAK. Regardless, I have not found a good alternative product, but did get a decent deal on a 12-pack of the boxes. |
