Can hear net control and some of the check ins on my SDR receiver from the world's worst HF operating location (first floor apartment), but everyone is way down in the noise on my FT-450. I guess that's what happens when your antenna is inside and about 4' off the ground.  I'll see if can give it a shot some other night.

I use a heavy plumb bob on the end of each one to keep them hanging reasonably straight. It's up at about 65ft. 50ft is a practical minimum because the vertical elements are 34 feet long. |
