I had just enough juice to get through the net. I suppose I could use the speaker and just the hearing aids, but it is nice to have everyone's voice inside my head.  I guess that is the best way to describe it. I don't need to read lips, it is as close to having real hearing as I can get. Enough of that, you will have to look up your own band conditions tonight, I am slacking. As heard in WI S5-6 noise, qrm earlier, they bailed once they heard the net, that was nice of them. OK, My list is kind of disjointed, and the qrm made things very difficult. I was getting it from both sides, and they stopped at the same time we did. I had S8 to S9+10 noise depending on what time it was. Phil is the NC station. Ken is the AR station, he is also the 5-8 station at the bottom. I heard everyone well enough to get their checkin and at least a good portion of their comments. Apparently, there was an OK station trying to checkin that I had zero copy on. It was rough tonight with the static and the qrm. But, we still had a functional net and the relays/relayers made it work. |

East end of my antenna decided to come down this week. I have another 50ft length of 1/8" stainless stranded cable inbound and THAT should fix any problems with tree limbs sawing the support ropes. When I get my TR-7/L-7 combo on the air, the signal issue should be fixed as well. |

Prenet was noisy, but manageable. Closer to net time, everything went to crap for me. Chris's signal dropped, noise increased, QRM got worse. I gave up. I was picnic table portable with a significantly compromised antenna over what I normally run. Next time, instead of the low, sloping EFHW, I'll try a vertical and see how that works for portable. |

Go on the OddballHFSSB Groups.io group, get ahold of the net owner (Denny Starks) and see if they'd accommodate us on 7296 USB. There are a LOT of milsurp and commercial gear users who participate there, and a bit of overlap in mission objectives exist. |

I try to do my due diligence when picking a freq. Listening awhile, calling out a few times, staying away from adjacent signals. I even try to move us if I can, like last night. It's always a risk when other people are using our usual haunts, and I have to search elsewhere. I don't want to be that guy and just start talking on 7213 because that's where we are used to talking. Moving to unfamiliar areas, there's a chance that we will infringe on the regulars that show up after we've been talking for half an hour. It would be nice if there was a chart of who owns what. |
