Open all over. Last couple of nights I've talked to stations in Russia, Belgium, Menorca Island, Portugal, and heard several more. Been fantastic. Obviously night for me is day for alot of them, so there ya go. The ionosphere smiles upon us, lads. |
| Interesting - I'm mostly on from the truck, which in turn means mostly daytime. 20 has been QSB and sparse stations for me - like a solar minimum. Nothing really workable with 20W from the back porch portable - all in all a frustrating stretch of propagation the past week or so. |

Yeah it's usually dead for me at night, I sometimes make contact with Russian stations, but that's it. The other night I was going to get on 40m and the VFO was on 20m from earlier, and I reached to switch it but heard activity. Then scrolled around and was pretty surprised. Will probably check again tonight. |

this is the time of year ( summer ) that having an antenna that radiates north means 20m and higher bands stay in daylight over the North pole into the other side of the world. For years I had my dipoles broadside to East / West and now I have them broadside to North / South and it makes a big difference getting into Oceania and Asia for me. |
