Too cold here today so mounted a scope and sighted in a 22lr my 8yo son wants to hunt with. Then was breaking in my new tikka 6.5creed I got for deer hunting. Attached File The wind was blowing and it started spitting a lite freezing rain. Just finished shooting a decent 5 shot group when a hog came out, ran across the field and stopped facing me. #3 DRT at 105yd  Attached File |

Well, shoot. Double tapped a big fatty at 60 yards but he made it into a hole. 40 grain .22 subsonic round nose aren’t really show stoppers. Going to be a slow year as I cleaned house last season. |

Great short hunt this evening with the 6mm Creed. Went 2 for 2 #6 @ 319yds Attached File #7@ 445yds (new personal record) Attached File Edited to add, I'm very impressed with the 6mm 80gr eld-vt bullets. Even on the 445yard shot the bullet dumped all it's energy inside the upper shoulder/neck area. There was no visible exit. Impact velocity around 2250fps. |
Popped another out of the garden last night. When we bought this house 13 years ago the owner had a tally sheet inside the kitchen cabinet. He was at 30 when I moved in. This makes 45 for me in 13 years for a total of 75 taken out of the window.  Attached File |

Well, I got #6, 7 and 8 yesterday. #6 was a solid body shot with thud from my .22 pistol, about 10yds, made it back to hole. #7, 30yds, hit low. Made it into dense brush. #8 hit in hind quarters at 114 yds. As I was walking to finish it off, I saw it using fronts only to crawl to hole. It made it before I got there, so here's a Pic of the hole.

Got a surprise double this morning while having coffee. Attached File Charlie in the wire! Got this one in the vegetable garden. Odd load, #7 20 gauge steel shot, but out to 25 yards or so with the right choke it is one shot and done. |

| Shot my first last year from my sunroom window, trying to get #2 out of my front window. I see him in the yard walking around the long grass in the evening, and he’s not out for long. Had a shot on him the other day but he was moving and too close to the road and my neighbor’s house, so I let him walk. |

14 this was about 50 yds. Normally I use .22mag at this range but the rifle i had with me was the AR and a mag of my 60gr vmax hand loads. You can see the results.

I’m at 44 for the year thus far. Unfortunately, I don’t have pictures of all the kills. You’ll just have to take my word for it. I’m not proud of this one, but it is interesting. He crawled back in the whole and probably bled out.  This always makes me laugh. It died doing what it loved:
