Over the years I have used a lot of different calibers for coyotes. I always seem to come back to my trusted 22-250 and .204's. Since I love both cartridges and have lots of brass and bullets, I decided to join my two favorite calibers into a 20-250. This is simply a 22-250 case necked down to accept a 20 caliber bullet. So far, I am very pleased with the results. I am pushing a 40gr hp bullet around 4150 fps out of a 20" barrel. I know I could gain even more speed with a longer barrel, but I wanted a gun that was easier to get in and out of my vehicle with my suppressor attached. This is about 450 fps faster than I am shooting my .204. Both calibers result in mostly DRTs. The 20-250 drops a bit less due to the increased speed but has more recoil and requires a lot more powder to get the extra speed. | Korey, congratulations! This "hybrid" 20-250 caliber is truly fantastic! It's a real shame that it can't be used for hunting in Italy and Europe! The minimum caliber allowed for hunting must have a bullet with a minimum diameter of 5.6 mm and the case must be at least 40 mm long (so from 222 Remington caliber and up...) |

I really do like this caliber a lot. However, with that said, the coyotes don't seem to know any difference from when I shoot them with my .204. They normally just drop on the spot with either one. |

Probably more because I still shoot my 204's often as well. I did have a barrel manufacturer reach out to me after this video released. There may be a chance to work out a deal with him, and if his barrels perform well, I would never have an issue of running out of barrels. If that is the case, I probably will shoot it more. |
