Back story: Most of my 223/556 hunting-shooting has been done with 20 or 24" barrels. Either 1:8 or 1:9 twist. I'm now wanting a carbine length version of same for the occasional varmint shot out to a couple hundred yards. Since T/C is making receivers again and SSK Industries offers both G2 Contender receivers and barrels, I figured I'd add to that part of the inventory. Build a 16" G2 or 20" Encore setup for use around my property. Real world crony and performance examples...what do you folks see in terms of delta between 16 and 20 inchers in 223, and does terminal performance with, say, 50gr VMax differ drastically between lengths? |
