Anyone have experience with the newer 12volt roof top AC/heat pumps for a camper? Planning on another cargo trailer conversion and will have a roof top AC. The 12volt units look pretty neat. Don’t care about having a heat pump on the roof for heating but seems cool that it has that option. Not much heat output but that’s not a big deal to me. Input? This type. https://www.amazon.com/Rooftop-Conditioner-Campervan-Sprinter-10000BTU/dp/B0CV3K36SS |

Many semi trucks use 12v DC heat pumps to heat and cool the sleeper compartments. |

I always thought they were 24 volt systems. I don't know about accessory power, but it would be silly to run an air conditioner on 12 volts if a 24 volt supply is available. |

The purpose of the 12v AC systems is to not need to run the truck engine while the driver is sleeping. There is usually an APU that can run while the driver is sleeping. |

Shows what I know about trucks. Anyway, 70 amps is a huge amount of current. You would be much better off with a 120 volt setup. |
