No, I have the Know-How, but no room for the tools in this dinky house. Had a buddy cut them out and finish them, I put them together if/when a customer wants one. You can turn them around to hang on the wall as well. |

Just finished up another big batch of skulls - a red fox, two grey foxes, and a bobcat. The red fox is my first - it's certainly bigger than the greys.
Both of the greys are pretty old, and here you can see where the teeth are really worn down and even missing on one of them. 
This bobcat has a front bottom tooth that is broken - how does that even happen? You can also see on the top of his head where he looks like he took a hard hit - it dented and cracked his skull a little. It's hard knock life when you're a pussy, I guess. 
These are two of my kids - I was taking my pictures and they really wanted a picture of them holding skulls.

Here's a few more interesting recent ones. First up is a bobcat with BOTH teeth broken - the guy who shot him says he thinks the cat caught a shotgun pellet in the face when he went down. 
An antelope I did for a young guy; it's his first antelope. Not a big buck, but a real trophy if you know what I mean! 
And here's a lineup of the predator dogs - I've been cleaning up a lot of foxes lately so I thought I'd show everyone this. Left to Right: Timber Wolf, Coyote, Red Fox, Grey Fox. 
Some of the skulls I've currently got lined up for bug time are more bobcats, a couple more antelopes, some more mule deer, even more foxes and a nice big cougar! We all had a secret anthill for cleaning shells we had found diving back when I was stationed in Cuba. Dear God, the smell when you first brought a live shell into the barracks. You soon learned the anthill trick and found a hidden anthill to put your shells on. This kept the non diving roommates from killing you.
The beetles do seem to make short work on the skulls. Great work! |

That's my first antelope and maybe 5th deer I've done. Not great, but I'm CHEAP, and honestly, it all adds to the total enjoyment I get out of hunting. Sort of extends the season for me, although, my freezers are backed up with "projects". 
When I get time, I'm going to weld up a stand to hold/rotate forms as I mount them up. I've been squeezing them between my knees,etc, while fitting hides, sewing,etc I wind up covered in hide paste, LOL. Heck, since it's a skull thread, I'll toss these in as well. 
gray,coon,beaver-not real white, but they were for educational purposes Fisher is still festering in my rot bucket.

Rizzo, I checked out your blog......great page, and loved the link to NPHA. Earlier you mentioned that you wondered how lower front tooth might be broken on an animal. I can tell you my border collie had it happen and it might be the same for predators. She is an aggressive border collie and chases everything like it's life or death. One day when chasing a frisbee, she got too close to some large rocks/boulders in our yard. She went after the frisbee so hard, she banged into the rock with her lower front tooth. THe tooth broke off right at gum level! I would guess predators could do this chasing their dinner! |

| Got my bobcat skull from Glen. Very nice! Amazing how clean they can get. I am goign to start doing this myself. I have some heads in the freezer waiting. Gotta figure a way to get it past the wife though. If I say nothing she will not know unless it smell really bad. |

| When I have no skulls, I feed them table scraps or rabbit meat, and give them a couple of days between feedings. How often they need to be fed is based on the season because they are way more active in the warmer months, and they can go quite a while between meals if you are on vacation or something. Throw some cardboard or bread in there if you are gonna be gone awhile, as they like to nest in that and it takes them quite a bit to eat it. They won't starve themselves if there is something to eat. Make sure you post pics of your skulls when you get them done! |

Little bit of brain still in the skull but other than that it is ready. I think tomorrow I should be able to take it out and start the peroxide soak. Mine are being kept at about 82 degrees which I think will serve them well. |
