I am interested in the history of these https://atlanticfirearms.com/chinese-sks-m56-rifle The description makes it sound like these are parts kit builds or something. Can you shed some light into the origins and history of these rifles? I bought one already so it won't sway me either way, I'm just curious. |

These are not kits; they are authentic SKS rifles that were reconditioned abroad. In terms of Chinese SKS imports, the bore and barrels are among the nicest we have seen in the past ten years. The metal has been reblued and looks great. Since surplus firearms are merely a commodity and foreign arms dealers are not collectors & they often do not provide us with a detailed backstory.  |

@ATLANTIC-FIREARMS It says on the listing page that the rifles are all test fired, did that entail a single shot or multiple? Mine has consistently not cycled for the 20 or so rounds I've fired, with the bolt only moving back an inch or so. I'm currently trying to figure out if it's something I'm missing (made a thread here trying to get ideas for issues I might be missing http://www.ar15.com/forums/ak-47/SKS-won-t-cycle-bolt-goes-back-maybe-an-inch-and-feeds-the-fired-round-back-into-the-chamber/83-171250/ ), and I'll get some more ammo to try, but it'd be nice to know if this issue is something that would have been caught by you guys so I can narrow the issue to ammo or something I somehow misassembled. |

ETA: After doing some more testing with the air compressor, it seems pretty likely that the air is just going around the gas piston due to too loose of a tube/piston fit. No amount of pressure with the air compressor moves the piston at all, all the air goes right out of the gas tube vent hole. I contacted Atlantic and asked to return it. |
