I have this old Daniel Defense mount kicking around my parts bin. I think it’s for a sling mount (HK hook? Direct thread?) I am interested in what this is called, when it was made and perhaps what are the correct uses/weapons it would be found on back in the day. Or is it even a legit part since the logo isn’t the standard DD one? Thx!   It’s even spring-tensioned

| Definitely a vintage sling mount. Pre-2006. IIRC it's called either the Rail Mount Front Loop (RMFL) or Rail Mount Sling Loop (RMSL). It went through some refinements before it was ultimately discontinued. It was designed for webbing, not a HK Hook or Mash Hook. Worked well mounted to the side rail but some end users attached it to the top rail. Definitely a cool piece of DD history. |
