Some photos have this grayscale noise over them - mostly on used/trade-in items. What is the reason for that? Sorry for the dumb question but it's been bugging me for months.

| because if i take a pic of one with a flat finish, and somebody gets one that is shiny, or basket weave, they throw a fit. At these prices can't afford any drama |
