These rails were released maybe 15 years ago. Is there any backstory or cool history behind them? If they were the regular black versions, they wouldn't be a big deal, but the FDE versions were seemingly released in very small numbers. Over the years, I've only seen one other one in the wild, a 12" Lite Rail. Additionally, if I remember correctly, the packaging/box didn't even specify that the rail was the FDE version. (The box is in storage, so I can't confirm at the moment.) So what's the story? Were these tests for what would become the RIS II? A handful of rails that were accidentally released? Or just a fun side project that made its way to consumers?

| Just something fun to do back in the day. After the FDE color was approved by SOCOM for the RIS II Handguards, we incorporated that color into several of our other handguards (M4 Rails, Lite Rails, and even some Omega Rails). It was short lived. Maybe one day we'll do it again. Who knows! |

Who knows! why dont you guys have a section on your website with all the old rails and versions? you guys have so many old rails also. i went crazy looking for info on a 12" lite rail gen 1 fsp. turns out the only info i could find on the internet was a old discontinued page on optics planet or midway (cant remember) and it wasnt easy to get to also. thought the rail was a fake or airsoft. even tried reaching out via email but no one ever respsonded. |
