Took my T2 out today, moved off my bedside stand gun to a new upper. Took it out, two rounds, LED goes off. Change battery, rotate to on, works fine, 3 or 4 more rounds, LED off again. I've now swapped batteries to make sure that was not the issue, and it appears that it works when I first put the battery in, but any moving of the brightness dial causes the LED to die.
Now, off the gun, if I smack it a bit, LED goes off, remove, re-insert battery, it works until I whack it a bit or start changing brightness. It is definitely hosed. I've owned probably 10 different Aimpoints ranging from CompM2 to T1, H1, H2, T2, and several PRO's and never once had an issue. Anyone have experience in sending something back? How long did it take? PITA? Thanks! |

That's way too much paperwork to swap serial numbers for a major manufacturer like that, especially one that has military contracts. You must be thinking of lesser manufacturers like Vortex or Holosun who don't use serial numbers on their products because they have no military contracts and it's easiest to just send a replacement optic. Even Trijicon and EOTech are the same. Their optics have serial numbers and they have military contracts. Send them an optic and they fix it and return it. It took Trijicon 8 weeks to repair the ACOG I sent them. Those are more expensive than Aimpoints. |

Having or not having a serial number has nothing to do with how they do warranty work. I'm sure part of it is they want to see why it failed, and if it is a counterfeit or not. |
