Just got done with the two day night vision carbine last Thursday and Friday.
Hell of a good time was had.
I'll be taking more classes there for sure.

Was yours an outdoor class or indoor?

The thing that keeps me from taking any indoor carbine classes, is what I have heard about the noise level. My buddy says his ears were ringing for a day despite doubling up on ear protection. I am sensitive to really loud noise levels so I hate shooting next to someone with a brake.  How was it for you

Indoor.

Johnny, It wasnt bad for me. I started with doubling up but pulled the foam plugs out after a bit because I could hardly hear the instructors. There were only 5 students. The Ruger Precision Rifles were 6.5creedmoors and all had brakes. With doubling up the shots were pretty docile, with out foamies more like a loud talk. I think because we were in a 100yd indoor range, alot of the noise had area to dispearse. Plus they have sound absorbing mats everywhere.

I have shot a braked 450 bushmaster in a 25yd idnoor range before and it rattled all the observation windows.

Not bad really.
I was just running Sordins only.
The guy next to me during a section of the class didn't have a suppressor but my ears weren't ringing or anything.

Yeah, their ranges there are pretty squared away for sound dampening.

Thanks for the information.  I have crossed indoor carbine a vortex off my list, but will reconsider.  If everyone used suppressors that is one thing, but a brake, especially on a SBR kills me if I am shooting next to people. I have hearing loss as it is, and I do not want to make things worse.
