Never been fired once. I took off the stock and placed a Magpul stock on it. Was going to go to range this weekend. The Fire/safety selector will not ingage with. So right now the gun wont fire... Awesome
This is my Third AR, not counting the ones I used in the Military, Never had this happen. |
| Possible that the safety selector retaining spring/detent is not present? Did you swap grips? Remove the grip and make sure the selector spring and dentent haven't been removed. Even if they both are there the safety has to be in the correct position when the detent and spring are inserted and the grip installed to function correctly. |

Also need specifics on receiver ext, type of stock, type of buffer. Sometimes folks swap those out incorrectly with stock changes. Also, functions check it. Report any issues. |

| So I took the handle off, and the spring was inside the hole where the spring goes. However the handle itself had a plastic burr and the sring was caught on it not allowing the full motion. I took a dremal and cleaned it out. Now it works... Still annoying, but at least the spring WAS there. |

Well since the army only "forces" the most squared away guys in the unit to work the arms room, I'm sure you were too busy with soldier of the century boards to learn what the fuck your rifle cmponents were. I don't any infantry guys who don't know what the parts are called, since they teach you that at basic with a huge kindergarten mat that's labeled. I know what they're called and I was a dentac pfc for only five years. Only because I didn't pass the call of duty board. |

Or someone that got blown up, and awaited Medical Board after the surgery recovery time.I was the only Scout that got put on Rear-D that didnt have an artical 15 or was getting out with in the next few months, so I was "forced" to run the Arms room. Yeah it sucked. The Army did not, does not break the weapon down that far during Basic or Osut Training. You sir are wrong.
As far as my grammar, my bad I didn't know it was that big a deal. I wont post any more I would hate to upset the faggy Gods of the boards. (get a life) Alexander Arms built and shipped my weapon. |
19D, Of course...... Feel free to PM me with some of your details. The Scout world can be very small for people that have been in a few years.
They may not break it down 100%, but they definitely do enough that you can describe what's going wrong with your rifle. Anyone who is in combat arms should be able to hit the highlights. If not, your TL's and SL's need a kick in the shin. You're also not the only one who's been bounced around and come out on the losing side on a tour. The grammar and spelling isn't a huge deal, but it goes a long way in people taking you seriously. Can you take pictures of your rifle and the problem? ETA: You were dinged up enough to be sent back to Rear D....but not enough to the WTU? That doesn't make sense. |

Please accept our apologies for the problem that has occurred. All units are tested prior to shipping but faults can evade this process. We take the QA aspect of this work exceedingly seriously and your rifle should have contained a ticket with the initials of the inspector.

I know they dont knock all the pins out of lowers and such, but your references to a "handle" that was neither the charging handle or a carry handle came across as a little gunshow-commando. Its a grip or pistol grip. I've never heard anyone call it a handle in the Army. Ever. That includes a couple years in a Stryker Cav Sqdn. Seemed a little murky, but if you have been out for a while I guess it could be confusing... And in general, the whole super-defensive shit talking thing doesnt make you come across as anything other than another guy with a complex. If you look around the forum, youll see alot of current and former servicefolk giving each other shit for their MOS/Service. Its all in good fun though, you dont have to prove anything to the guys with EIBs.  Because were all just support. Just ask them.
