This is a work in progress, I will get more pics as it progresses.
So almost 2 years ago I decided to SBR the lower on my 14.5" tOBR. I had the MD unpinned so I could use my AAC suppressor and decided to wait since LaRue would be offering different barrel lengths/cals and Handguard lengths. I have no doubt when LaRue releases some they will be great, but I gave up on waiting (got inspired by another member here) and decided to make it happen myself. I wanted to keep it as much LaRue as I could but also have an adjustable gas block. I ordered: 12" LaRue Stealth Barrel (cutting to 10.5") SLR Sentry 7 LaRue gas tube LaRue tOBR barrel nut Sent my Handguard to get cut Old 14.5" set up 
Everything broken down 
Gonna cut to here 
12" barrel (sending to get cut to 10.5") 
UPDATE 1 of 3: Barrel is back, waiting on the Handguard will get that together Sunday. 
And this didn't look as crazy as I thought it would. 
Nothing like getting back from out of town to finish the build! Keith at Phoenix Custom Rifles did a great job on the chop, $40 well spent! 
Ran out of daylight so I will get better pics up eventually. 
May need to trim about 1/8" from the GAPs but I probably will just let them be. 
Finally a little bit of outdoor light.

| I will be following this project. I really like the idea. Hopefully ML comes out with more shorter barrel options. Maybe a "Pistol Upper" and lower with a pistol buffer tube. It would be nice to be able to buy this setup, form-1 it, then wait the six months for a stamp. At least you would have your toy while you wait. |

I think you're about to void your warranty. 
FWIW, I have a 12" LaRue factory SBR (OBR) and it runs like a champ. I kept it at 12" so I wouldn't experience issues with running it suppressed. |

While I'm waiting, has anyone used any of the PDW style stocks? What was your experience with them? I got a buddy who used one on his larue lower but he had to have it machines to fit. The "rails" wouldn't slide on the larue lower versus a forged lower so he took care of it. |

| Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I've got a question I couldn't find the answer to. If you register a tOBR lower as an SBR, can you still run other length barrels without a problem? Don't you have to indicate the exact length on the form 1, so if you swap tOBR barrel would that be a problem? |

You only have to indicate the original length of the SBR, after that you can throw which ever upper on there you want. |

A lot of manufacturers are rating their suppressors for as short as 8.5" now. Griffin Armament and SilencerCo come to mind. Has Larue said what theirs would do as far as barrel length? |

Just got the tracking info from ADCO for the barrel. Handguard got coated yesterday should be heading back today.
Hopefully I will get pics up next week! Mark, the guy that cut the Handguard said he couldn't believe how rigid it was. Said it was much sturdier than other ones he has done. |
