I am wondering if anyone likes the hellcat or hellcat pro trigger out of the box. Coming in at 7 pounds and gritty with some travel I could not help but wonder why the flagship micro and compact 9mm did not get the same treatment as the xdm elite series. I know a few people with the hellcats and I have a pro. The one change we all made was the trigger almost immediately. If you have tested it and received feedback, I find it hard to believe this was given the thumbs up. A better trigger would go a long way to making the hellcat line more competitive in my opinion. Everyone has their opinion on the shappe of the grip and it varies according to hand size and personal preference, but man that trigger is something you had to have negative feedback over.

I’ve only handled a couple of versions in shops and fired a couple dozen rounds through an early Hellcat, but I thought the trigger wasn’t bad out of the box on any of them.

At the very least on par with a standard XD trigger, which IMO are generally better than factory Glock triggers.

How many rounds have you fired? I would generally expect a the trigger on any new firearm to lighten up and smooth out a bit with use.

I switched it out with an apex. It was  close to 7 pounds out of the box. Maybe high 6s. Now it is around 5 pounds and no grit. Perfectly acceptable now, but I wonder why they didn't put in a trigger like the xdm elite trigger. 7 pounds with creep and grit is not a big selling point. I didn't expect it to be a canik or walther, but if we could get beyond military grade triggers it would be great.

I have one with an apex and a prp trigger upgrade... It's fucking smooth.

I also have one that is OEM aside from slightly filing the shoe safety... It's actually not bad.
