Small run of SP-1404 Slings are in! We first released these briefly in 2013 and they were quickly dubbed “the Goldilocks sling” as being “just right” between padded and unpadded slings with the 1.5” tail.
These are very cool slings for 3 main reasons - the size, the color, and the hardware. First on the size. You may not think ¼” is not that big of a difference but there is a difference you can feel. The back of the sling that rides over your shoulder has more roll and is more comfortable when carrying a weapon. Think of it is like a padded sling without the pad - thinner, easier to slide, and “just right”. Next up - the color. It’s not every day we are able to offer slings in AOR1 or “Desert Digital”. We have some extra material so we decided it was a good fit. The back of the sling is Coyote Brown making it a very distinctive combination. People will either ask you why it is like that or most likely, just assume you are so far beyond that they are probably missing some hidden knowledge. For a more traditional approach, we also have a SP-1404 sling in all Multicam. Lastly the hardware. If you are familiar with the Vickers sling, you might have noticed the price. A regular Vickers Sling with metal hardware retails for $65 but this is hardly regular. The entire sling uses machined aluminum hardware that is all custom to BFG and anodized in a perfect matte grayish-brown - anodizing that would rival any AR part. These are extremely limited - the limiting factor is the 1.5” to 1.25” trapezoidal transition loop in the middle of the sling. Once those are out, they will be out for good.
