So, since they advertise here on the site I thought I would at least look at their catalog. Low and behold I find EXACTLY what I am looking for. A decent quality A2 type barrel assembly. I wanted a 20" Govt profile chrome lined barrel. Many companies had either a CL heavy barrel OR a govt profile that wasn't lined. Many that listed what I wanted did not have it in stock and would backorder it.
Get to PKFirearms and the first thing I see is that if the website says its in stock, then it actually is in stock and they will ship tomorrow, don't call you'll just hold us up. I trusted this statement. Turns out, they were totally telling the truth! Placed my order late Sunday evening, and it shipped on Monday! YEAH FOR ME! Now the rub. And I don't know if I misread the website, or the assembler messed up, but there is a problem with the hanguard cap. It's an A1 type. The ad was for an A2 assembly. I have concerns about removing the front sight base to change it, I don't know how to properly reinstall and realign it. I wrote then an email and will update when they get back to me. Just really posting to mention that they really do ship VERY FAST. If their website say's its in stock, they will ship within 24hrs just like it say's. I am very happy up to this point. PS. I did mention this site in my email to them just to let them know that their ad here really did bring in my business. Headed over to the build it yourself forum to learn how to properly repin a FSB. |

It's been a few days, still no response to my email.
I'm getting ready to change out the hand guard cap myself, but now that I am really looking at the barrel I have even more questions. It was sold as a Bushmaster but it doesn't look anything like my Bushy. The Parkerizing on the PK supplied barrel is BLACK. Dark black. And in the sunlight it has flecks of something very shiny in it. The best I can describe it: It reflects light as if micro particles of glass or diamonds were part of the coating. This is nothing like the parkerizing on my other Bushmaster. That on is a flat grey. Dark grey but definitely flat. I will see if I can get some pics together. It is also supposed to be a 20" barrel. It looks about an inch short. Will have to get the ruler too. Just wish they would supply some sort of customer service. |
