I bought the W3 PVD Slide for Glock 17 Gen 3- Black and the G17 threaded barrel recently ad have some observations for you' On the slide 1st of all it looks amazing! I really didn't want the lightning cuts but for the price I can more then live them. Here are the problems... The dovetail for the rear sight was way under cut for any of the 3 different rear sights I had on hand( Strike Industries, Night Fision and Ameriglow). 2 of the 3 sights wouldn't even start to go into the dovetail cut. I spent a lot of time filing away the slide to get Strike Industries sight to go in snugly. The front sight holes were under sized too but not nearly as bad as the rear dovetail was. For the price I paid I figured some fitting was going to be required but I didn't expect to have to do so much. The barrel was perfect and dropped right in with zero problems and it shoots very well. This was just my experience with the slide and maybe I just got the exception one instead of the rule ones. Just wanted to share what my experience was. Would I buy it again? Probably.. but if the sights didn't fit I wouldn't touch the slide and just return it. |

The Wheeler tool couldn't push it in without binding up until I filed away most of the excess. The dove tail wasn't cut deep enough nor was it wide enough. The angle was correct but thats it. Oh I forgot to mention that the bolt for the front sight was hell to install tight because the bolt head was right up against the inside rib and the Glock front sight tool couldn't get a grip on the bolt head to tighten it. |
