Knesek Guns has a 14.5" and 16" LE model listed on their site for $2695 for both models. I just sent them an email verifying that they have the rifle in stock.

I expect to see these prices come down to MSRP or lower not too long from now. |

I will purchase this rifle it's only a question of when and at what price.
I'm not going to pay above MSRP and will wait a year or longer if that is what it takes to see the price come down. I hope that Colt will make them in sufficient number to at least meet the demand enough for them to sell at MSRP as soon as possible. My question at this point is what the difference is in weight between this lower and standard colt lower receiver. I'm guessing there is some weight increase, but how much I do not know. |

Hopefully they offer both the 16" and 13" |

That's all fine and dandy, but it does not apply to the 901. ETA: Nor does it apply to Colt ever. How many times have we seen a piston operated (LE1020) and similar at SHOT from Colt? Too many to count, including two of those uppers in the picture you posted...
In fact at the time of SHOT, Colt hadn't finalized the barrel design for the 901 yet, nor shot it for accuracy. All of that's been pretty much wrapped up now as I understand it and we are about to see what the finished product is. Personally I'm excited to see what the offerings end up being. |

This thread is not intended to whine about dealer pricing of a gun they dont even have yet. You are not the only person in this thread that speaks directly with colt. a colt rep posts in here and he hasnt told us anything about it , so stop trying to play that game.. for someone complaining about the thread taking a wrong turn, you started it with that post that added nothing about anything. keep it to tech specifications please. lets agree on not complaining o commenting on crazy ass prices until they actualyl hit the shelf and someone is holding it. |

Lots of complaining in this thread. If you're not a fan of the rifle why are you in here? Also...if you don't want to buy one or can't affort to pay to play...don't. The 901 is $2500 less than what I paid for my Knights SR-25 EMC. While I'll be keeping the EMC because of the accuracy it's capable of, I still plan on getting a 901. $1900-$2200 is a good deal. It's on par with high end AR-15's in 5.56 and cheaper than all quality .308 AR's on the market right now (DPMS's are range toys and have too little QC for me to trust my life on if it ever came to that). The LMT MWS is nice but 5.56 isn't an option. No...you aren't going to carry around two uppers and two ammo types. It is nice to be able to buy one lower and do anything with it though. As previously mentioned, it would be a great lower to SBR as well!

Has there been any information on what colored finish these will be offered in to the general public?
I have seen black, "FDE", and a camo finish. The "FDE" type finish looks nice, hopefully they will offer that... |

Jesting aside - my understanding is that Type 3 HC anodizing in black is still one of the best finishes in terms of surface durability compared to other coatings, or even different colored anodizing. Given my proclivity for rattle-canning, plain old black would be fine with me - or, if they wanted to offer it in "colors" I would say Ceracoat over black anodizing. ~Augee |

That is a bummer, because I just talked with Tombstone Tactical today and got the first preorder spot for the SP901, and he was hearing December as the release date. On the positive side, the price shipped is (just barely) below $2000, which sure as shit ain't cheap, especially since the Navy hasn't paid me since May, but a steal compared to the other .308 AR's as long as its not shit.
|
|
|
Does anyone know if these are going to be marked sporter or modular carbine?
|
|
|
G&R Tactical posted on M4carbine that his PO had been accepted by Colt for ordering. He said the price would be under $2000.

Hinterland outfitters has the 901 listed for $1892.78,but none in stock yet.

That's a solid price for a what looks to be a very solid rifle.
