| This gun is a piece of shit. Mine has no audible or tactile trigger reset and SA returned it to me with a single sentence that this is “normal” for SA’s shitty new proprietary trigger. One would think that SA would have enough self respect to design a new trigger that at least wasn’t a POS that I need to send to C&S or MK3 for a $500 trigger job in order to get an audible or tactile reset. I have no less than 7 Springfields, including a variety of 1911s and some polymer wonders. SA, on this one, you done us the fucks. And now, I’m going to go trade mine in on anything else. If this is SA’s “new normal,” you can count me out going forward. |
| Tactile and audible reset are stupid reasons to be bitching about the gun. They're shitty marketing gimmicks from the 90s. My FN manufactured HP has a worse trigger than the SA35. If you're waiting to hear and feel your trigger then you should consider taking a class. |

The trigger on my SA-35 has really smoothed out and lightened up a bit now that I’ve hit the 500 round mark. Lighter than my Mil-Spec 1911, but the break isn’t quite as crisp. Better than the majority of factory striker fired triggers however. That said, I did add a Cylinder and Slide 2 coil ‘heavy’ trigger return spring to see if I could improve reset feel a bit. It looked the same as the stock spring but a little thicker wire. While some of the take up on the trigger was reduced I didn’t really notice a huge difference in reset travel, feel or noise. IMO not that big of a deal and really the only way to improve overall reset is with a trigger. It’s a known HP ‘thing’ and not something that Springfield marketed as something they improved, so I’m not sure why some are getting their panties in a bunch. |
