| I have a DDM4 PDW I bought a few years ago. Only have about 300 RDS thru it and most of that is within the past 2 months since I got my first suppressor. Took it out today and noticed the 2 bolts opposite side of the ejection port are rusting quickly. Ejection side ones have minimal rust but the other two are extremely noticeable. Nothing else on the gun is whatsoever. Issue or just scrub and oil? I'm not as worried about asthetics as I am the threads getting corroded and causing a problem down the road |

I would say that most likely you are gripping at the magwell/handguard junction due to the shorter HG length? Sweat from you hand is on those, causing the rusting. Suggestion-use a 3/4-1" paint brush, few drops of a good oil and brush over the steel parts of the gun, trigger, controls, castle nut/end plate, etc. Done this for years, never rust, even on work guns stored in a case, garage, trunk, etc. |
