I found an old thread on M4Carbine.net in which Bill Alexander posted that the torque spec for the pistol grip screw is 35 in-lbs.
Should this torque spec be used for grips like the Magpul MIAD or MOE? |
| The torque value is correct only for the flat head cross slot screws with the external tooth washers or the newer cap head types with an internal thread washer. Differing grips use different screw types and are different materials so exercise caution. The first Magpul grips had a countersunk screw which would split the grip if over-tightened. Equally many screws now sport a plastic anti vibration patch so the torque value is not applicable. |
