@PrimaryArms or anybody else, can you get a sight picture photo of the 5x SLx micro prism using the 1.41" mount directly behind the Primary Arms SLx Microdot Mount - 2.26? Also, a side picture would be good too. But mostly I'm wondering if the sight picture would just see right through the mount. |

Also, a side picture would be good too. But mostly I'm wondering if the sight picture would just see right through the mount. I took the time to snap some pictures of the specific configuration you're requesting! Honestly, the 1.41" mount doesn't give you much room to view the reticle on the micro dot. (We used the MD-21 on the 2.26" SLX riser) It's very tight to the upper 1/3rd. We also swapped the 1.41" for the lower flush mount, which works but makes that cheek weld on the stock much lower, forcing you to compress your cheek into the stock. Anyone running electronic muffs might have issues with this configuration. If it were me, I would go with the 5X MicroPrism paired with either the Primary Arms Mini Reflex 12 O'Clock Mount For PAO MicroPrisms™ (SKU: PA-MR12) OR Primary Arms Micro Dot Offset Mount For PAO MicroPrisms™ (SKU: PA-MDOM) just to make things a little more compact and give you a better cheek weld option. Interesting! I'm still crossing my fingers for a 407k footprint integrated into the 3x and 5x, similar to vortex spitfire and vector paragon. I could just get one of those but I'd much prefer primary arms as a brand The 3x + micro dot would be good on a flux raider or 300 blackout build, and a 5x on a general purpose gun |

Great pics. Just what I was wondering. So, it's doable, but not optimal. I suppose you could put the whole shebang on a .410 riser and still be shorter than a GBRS 2.91 mount. Although perhaps a better option would be to put the red dot on a 2.33 mount then you should be able to use a regular cowitness height on the 5x. Right? Maybe? |

@PrimaryArms could you try with this, or something like it? https://www.primaryarms.com/bcm-a-t-cantilver-optic-riser-525-10x5 |

Yeah, that's kind of the idea I'm going for here. Good question, the 5x is physically larger so I assume the optical center is higher compared to the 3x using the same low mount. |

I do the same thing with an Overbore mount. ![]() More pics here: https://www.ar15.com/forums/AR-15/Primary-Arms-SLX-3X-Microprism/18-765865/?page=21 It works well enough for me. The worst part is just cramming your face low on the stock. That said I am playing with a new piggyback mount from a Tacswap seller that is pretty interesting and hopefully less likely to bend than the PA version. |

If the new Tacswap mount was available at the time, I probably would have done that, but, I am still loving this setup. Gives me a great 2.26 red dot for the rifle when it’s in the house, which I’m liking for moving around with my head vertical, and then a 3x prism with a good low cheeckweld for KD shooting and groups at the range. Those are my real use cases, but I think it’s a very good setup for any 5.56 general purpose fighting rifle too. |

If it looks dumb, but it works, it's not that dumb ![]() Pics of your setup if you can. Would love to see it. |

Since you are using the 2.33" mount, could you bring the prism up to the ~1.4 height? I still sorta think that using the 2.26" plus a prism at 1.1" with both on a half inch riser (or Bobro 0.410 riser) might be the best of both worlds, since the red dot will still be lower than either a carry handle mount, ACOG piggy back, or GBRS mount. And all of those others are great heights for certain use cases. |

ETA: long story short: yes, it works well enough for the prism, but blocks half of the dot window, just like PA's pics, above. |

By the way, Reptillia just released a 0.39" riser. I sort of feel like this would be the perfect compromise height getting the 3x at around 1.5" and red dot at 2.26+0.39=2.65" |

I little late to the post, but the Reptillia 0.39" riser is perfect. I was able to get my 5x at 1.535 with the Red Dot at 2.65. https://imgur.com/a/WbRyjX7 I posted more pictures on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/ar15/comments/1spccdc/help_me_pick_a_pa_5x_micro_prism_red_dot_setup/ |
