Has anyone had good luck with Palmetto State Armory customer service??? Put me in the "NO" column!
I ordered 6 of the SS Slides last time they had them in stock (or the last time I saw them in stock). They came bundled in sets of two wrapped in cling wrap. My son and I took two and built very nice 1911's and the others went on the shelf still nicely bundled. When it came time for a new build and I unwrapped the next set only to find one was Carbon Steel and it had a nasty little pit in it. I have emailed their customer service with no response.

that said you didnt comment on your opinion on the grips.

I was looking at making one of the frames into a 9mm beater using the Rock Island build kit. Back on page 10 (post from 2015), somebody said they slapped the Rock Island kit on this frame and it went together pretty easily. What I'm not sure about is if I need the ramped or non-ramped barrel. Do you have any clue about it? First post cleared it up. The frames are not cut for a ramped barrel. |

Finally after working on this thing for a year and a half it is done.
Stainless PSA frame and slide PSA barrel that was reverse crowned Combination of Wilson Combat and EGW for most everything else. Cerakoted graphite black  forum image hosting

He did the reverse crown and some fine tuning on it before he coated. |

What sort of finish comes on the carbon steel frames? The color matches very close with the Rock Island kit which is listed as parkerized finish. If this stock finish on the frame is good enough to protect against corrosion and such, then I'm inclined to leave it that way.

| I am really interested in knowing the answer to if slides will be in stock soon, its really getting old being dissapointed 3 times a day checking the site for as long as i can remember especially after buying another frame recently |
Finally got to do some work on the 9mm I am building my dad for his birthday in March. Got the front strap and the bottom of the trigger guard checkered (30lpi) and undercut the trigger guard a little more. He has bigger hands than me, so I am noy going to cut this one as aggressively as my own.
