Mailman finally started dropping off the parts to build out another one of my PSA 1911 frames. These carbon steel ones have been sitting in a baggie in a drawer for a year. They develop surface rust just from handling them. I'm thinking a trip to the cerakote guy may be in order once I get it all together and make sure it goes bang. PSA frame Rock island tactical 45acp kit Night sights ED Brown threaded barrel

Ended up coating it. Now my 9mm is shiny.

Wanted to get a sense of how they were wearing...I haven’t heard any reports of galling or anything. These were a remarkably good deal. Got a stainless/checkered PSA frame in 2015 or 16 and a GI replacement “hard slide.” Have a few parts on hand, just got a Stan Chen ms housing. Plan to get a Bar-Sto barrel and have it built up like the Pachmyer signature two tones from back in the day 😎 |
