TL:DR Ordered a new Larue Tactical BAR-none rifle, have heard zero back from company after 2 weeks despite reaching out on the phone and 2 different email addresses. Help. edit- my long version was too long. I'm a new member and limited greatly in post length- sorry for lack of details. I made arrangements with my local FFL and went ahead and very proudly ordered a new BARnone in 6.5cm, no threaded barrel as my first “real” rifle. Super pumped. The website gave me a confirmation number. My credit card was charged. Then… nothing. No email confirmation to say “order received” or anything. I waited a week, checked spam filters, etc. Nothing. Then I discovered there isn’t a phone number for the company but on these forums was a post where someone tried their now unlisted number so I tried that and it was/is either disconnected or off the hook permanently. I emailed two different addresses and still haven’t heard back at all another week later. questions: 1.How long should I wait before getting concerned? I already am tbh. 2.I really don't want to just have $1300 sitting out there charged on my card, and with no way to get ahold of the company. I saved my nickels and dimes for a long time in order to be able to afford this rifle. Since mfgr is MIA, If I’m going to “cancel” I’d have to do it by disputing my charge and cancelling it through my cc company, I need to do it by end of month when the bill is due. Am I being an impatient a-hole, and should just wait longer? Chill out? Or is waiting a month then cancelling reasonable from any number of perspectives? 3.I’m even more concerned that this is a new product that could reasonably have some minor issues. I’m fine with that. But the lifetime warranty means nothing if the manufacturer won’t respond in any way. 4.I’m actually leaning towards the “screw it all” and just getting a Sako/Tikka and be done with it. In stock, shipped easy no schennanigans. 5.Anything else? thx again |
| They recently revamped their website. I’ve been a customer and had an account for probably 18 years and I had to start a new account and none of my previous purchase history is there. If you haven’t already, register a new account with them and perhaps your order will show up. If not, there’s nothing to worry about. I’ve purchased over a dozen rifles from them and they’ve always arrived. Most of the new offerings from LT take a while - sometimes a long while - but you’ll get them and you’ll be more than satisfied. I’ve waited up to six months for a few limited addition items. They never ship when you order them so just be patient. |

| Sadly, I’m not surprised. The company has taken a major downward turn as of late. LaRue was once known for industry leading customer service. I am not exaggerating. Now, you can’t buy parts or even get them to answer the phone. It’s sad and I’m not quite sure what happened to cause all this, though I guess we can all speculate. |

Thank you everyone. I'll just chill, and some random day my rifle will show up. For what it's worth, I happened by a Bass Pro with my wife and looked at a Tikka T3x ultraLite in 6.5cm, and liked it. More importantly my wife said to buy it. I slept on it, and went back and purchased it next day. When I came home, my wife informed me that she liked it enough that it is now her rifle. I was a little surprised because while being supportive she is pretty "meh" about shooting, and I tentatively asked her if she wanted to come hunting in the fall with me. It seems: yes! Awesome. The whole reason for a new rifle is I intend to start hunting this year and if it is something we can do together, all the better. Thanks again |

Update. I have heard zero back from company, and checked out the cryptic Instagram posts via a friend's account (I do not social media). There is actually a webform for contacting the company which I filled out today. I didn't see that it existed earlier. Fingers crossed. I basically stated I was really excited about my order, proud to support the company but i really need to hear something back. An email saying "order received" would be fine. I don't think I'm asking for much but correct me if mistaken. I've been a whole month patient. If I don't hear back by the time my credit card is due first of the month, I will have to "cancel" which means going through my credit card, disputing a charge and all that hassle. I really don't want to do that. Stay tuned and thanks in advance for any advice/thoughts. best. |

I know it’s annoying but LT always ships in the “2 weeks” timeframe. But seriously why dispute a rifle purchase you made just because you don’t know when it’s going to ship? I know LT has changed. I get it. But you seem impatient. Also, side note. At one time they wouldn’t send tracking on rifles. The answer I got was they didn’t want someone to redirect it. I think at that time the order status would just change to complete. I don’t know if they are still doing this. |

This is the normal from them from before they went to a vendor model. |
The 2nd is not about hunting, it never was. It was put in place for one reason and one reason only. You can't have them, we won't give them up, so get over it.

Update: about a week after my last post I got a reply from LaRue citing supply chain issues (example "even our shipping box supplier is currently experiencing delays") which sounds like the whole situation sucks for them plenty as well. They also thanked me for my business, apologies, etc which was very reassuring and I really appreciate that. So, on advice from all you fine folk, I'll give it "two more weeks" or however else long it takes. Even a year if needed. Still excited about the rifle and I'll probably forget I ordered it until it shows up one day. I got a new hunting rifle anyway in 6.5cm, and that is all sighted in and everything for hunting this fall (the original reason I bought the BAR none to begin with and the main reason for my lack of patience) so the silver lining is that I'll eventually have two nice 6.5cm rifles! thanks again to the forum. I'll update again if there is anything relevant and also when the rifle comes, plus probably a review since I haven't seen any anywhere. |
