If after I get some of these out and people are happy, they can be made in any pattern that exists in the materiel used. No idea on cost increase, it will depend on materiel cost availability quantity, etc.. |

To start a record of what people want, post what size and colorc and I'll contact you when done. Cover material options we have: 1. OD Green 3. Gray 4. Black 5. German DOT Camo 6. 7. Giraffe Webbing colors we have: A. OD Green B. Coyote C. Green D. Black This is material left over from his previous jobs, so there is probably only enough for 10 or so of each camo style, but there is plenty of the solid colors. |

If you dont mind .25 of the front of the can exposed the 10" will work. It may not even stick out that much. Next week I should have some 10" with the new cinch pieces and I can show you how it fits on an AEM5. |

Great minds think alike, Steve. I'm planning to stitch-bitch covers for the AEM-5, AEM5-30, and KAC 7.62 QDC PRG. I'm using OD Green Nomex fabric salvaged from AirSave body armor and a Multicam Fire Resistant ACU jacket. Lining is from salvaged kevlar panels from a CVC crewman body armor vest. I'm waiting on Nomex thread as I think standard military #69 nylon thread will melt. |

Here's some decently priced 1.5" black sleeve material. For a 25' section it works out to be $6.60/ft but I don't know about shipping costs. https://www.electriduct.com/thermo-armor-silicone-coated-fiberglass-fire-sleeve.html |

I've spent more money than expected buying different material in this process. You gotta pick your compromise. How are you going to attach the sleeve to the cover to hold it in place? Not sure the sleeve alone will work as well as the pot holder for mirage, but I think it would work well on the AEM2 on my SBR to prevent burns - but back to attaching the cover. For extra protection I cut up high temp fibergalss. I sealed the ends with high temp rtv to prevent fraying and dusted them with plastidip to keep the fibers in place. This will no doubt be a added layer of mirage mitigation, if needed. And it weighs next to nothing. I did source a ceramic non frayin/irritating option, but it's $8 a foot. The fire sleeve is 1/4 pound by itself in the same length ![]() As I said earlier, with the covers I'm selling its easy to remove the pot holder without damaging the cover. Everyone is free to play around with different options. If you find a better option that works, please share it here. |

I have some extra sleeve material from a burn proof gear cover that I'll probably put under the one that's coming from you. As far as keeping the sleeve in place I've found from my other covers that if you cinch up the cover really well they won't move around much. And the silicone on the outside of the sleeve is kind of tacky feeling so once it's on the suppressor just slip the outside cover on and tighten it down. That's basically all the rifles only ones consist of. It's a two piece system. Not at all suggesting you should copy the design but here's a pic for reference. Attached File |

How long / we'll does that slip over firesleeve hold up? I cooked this one up again today with the above pictured fiberglass and it's doing great.

On a side note the covers are looking awesome! |

Told you yesterday I'd put some rounds through it and did so today. It mitigated mirage great IMO. I put 60 rounds of 55gr FMJ through it at approx 1 second intervals and was not experiencing any mirage effects even towards the end. This should do the trick I needed it to. I ended up getting some waxed high temp rope from Mcmaster Carr. I may end up getting black rope to make it more pleasing to my eye. For the money, these are fantastic!! For your viewing pleasure I present my MK12ish rifle and cover. Thanks again for making these come to fruition. Attached File Attached File |
