I really like the Magpul CTR stock that is fitted on my HK 416 Commercial buffer tube, so I ordered a couple more from Brownells for a couple other AR’s.
I received both stocks and eagerly went to install them, I noticed right off the bat the stock was tight to slide on even before the lock gets to the locking rail. I can force the stock on but trying to slide it requires pretty much having to dang near stand on the gun to move it into any position.
I thought maybe the were mislabeled so I tried the stock on a few Milspec buffer tubes and its like throwing a hotdog down a hallway, the friction lock does nothing.
So I contacted Magpul and they sent me out 2 stocks with a return label for the two that don’t fit. Well low and behold neither of the two they sent are any better, they are actually tighter and are even putting wear marks on the anodizing on my DPMS tube from me trying to move it a couple times to see it would loosen up.
It’s just really weird that the CTR stock I’ve had for over 10 years that fits any of my AR’s and is easy to slide and locks up solid. But now I have 4 new CTR’s that I literally had to have someone else hold the rifle so I could use both hands to get it off.
Is anyone else having this issue or am I just Lucky?
