You’d never know it by looking for AR big bore muzzle brakes under the AR section on MI’s web site, but their two port big bore muzzle brake, under the Henry LA section, is absolutely perfect for use on the .458 SOCOM or any big bore with ? x 24 threads up to .458 diameter. With a half-inch bore, it passes the .458 bullet with plenty of room and it works as well on the .458 S as their smaller bored two-port brakes do on their .224 and .308 caliber brakes. MI even has a medium bore two-port brake for .357 caliber barrels, also ? x 24 threads. I used a .308 MI two-port brake bored out by Paladin (tp555-work(at)vfemail.net) to .400 and .415 for use on my .358 and .375 SOCOMs respectively, so I know these two port brakes work very well. Why MI does not list these two brakes under AR accessories is beyond my understanding. And if they would thread these brakes properly, they would also find acceptance for use on the .350 Legend and .450 Bushmaster. You’re missing the boat here MI. |
