BTW, I wouldn't count on that URG coming back in stock.  I have not seen the M5 URGs or SBRs anywhere but AU.  AU is down to only 5 of the 11.5" SBRs, though they are surprisingly slow sellers.  I personally think that the 11.5" M5 is the best AR15 variant ever.

Hey Guys! Sorry for the delay, I was trying to accumulate more information regarding your question.

We had a mutual customer reach out to Colt to inquire if the M5 pins were the same as the 901 pins. Since we already manufacture and sell the 901 pins, they could then be used for the M5. According to Colt, they are not the same pins. With that being said, I am seeing feedback from users on ar15.com and other forums that they have used our pins with success.

Unfortunately we cannot recommend them for the M5 and do not have plans to make dedicated M5 pins at this time. We have to defer to Colt's findings, and if they are not interchangeable per the manufacturer, we respect their expertise. Users could be finding success, but we are unsure of the reliability/long term use of unapproved modifications. We always recommend using the appropriately sized Geissele pins for our triggers.  

We always want to make sure you have a reliable and functional product and hope you can understand our position.

FWIW, AU just shipped the upper that is in a cardboard box from Colt, in a plastic bag and the upper arrived with a ding on the corner of the front picatinny.

The upper had some poor uneven fitment on the front of the underside of the receiver and would not come anywhere near closing on LMT lowers. I corrected the excess material, but the upper was still far off from being able to close. Comparing it to a standard upper (I used a KAC), the M5 has a different, curved geometry at the front. After a bit more straight filing, then sanding, and aluminum black, I achieved geometry that would allow them to close. It's still very tight requiring a good squeeze to get the rear pin in. Similar deal on the Magpul BEV Block doesn't line up quite right.

All set now, but not everyone is that handy or willing to finesse things like that. A heads up when you get your 10.3 upper.
