https://www.defense.gov/News/Contracts/Contract/Article/4016173/ Colt’s Manufacturing Company LLC, West Hartford, Connecticut, was awarded a $12,400,000 modification (P00002) to contract W15QKN-24-C-0037 for Colt M4A1 carbines. Work will be performed in West Hartford, Connecticut, with an estimated completion date of June 30, 2025. U.S. Army Contracting Command, Newark, New Jersey, is the contracting activity. |

| Bear in mind lots of these contracts are to support foreign government purchases of M4’s or other hardware. Even with all the hoopla over the new 6. Something rifle adopted by the army, the M4 isn’t going anywhere. From my understanding the new rifle will be issued to combat arms specific formations like infantry, and the majority of the army ( there are FAR more support than direct action troops ) will continue using the M4. |

I think there’s a worldwide plan. More and more European countries are issuing an AR style rifle… those who haven’t yet, have an AR ready to be manufactured (Beretta, Steyr, Sako). Same thing is happening in Taiwan, Philippine etc. The M4 is not going anywhere |

This particular contract on Dec-2024 was a modification of original contract awarded earlier in May. Israel is the country of this particular foreign sale. I thought IDF started sourcing their AR from local manufacturers. T86 and T91 carbines saw some exports to Middle East countries like Jordan, UAE, and Kuwait.
