Curious how sought after these are? I thought I recall reading some time ago these were used by the military but could be mistaken, I've been out of the clone world for a bit. Considering getting rid of them and curious what they're worth? Obviously whatever someone is willing to pay but hoping to get a guestimate on value

Haven't seen one of those early DDM4 rails around in a long time. Yes, the earliest DDM4 rail saw limited U.S. military use: It was the handguard adopted for use on the U.S. Army's Squad Designated Marksman Rifle (SDMR) during the early days of the GWOT (I believe it was fielded from about 2002 until 2010-ish). However, the version used on the SDMR was the DDM4 12.0, so I expect that it's only that version which will have value to cloners who want to build an SDMR clone. (Side note: I don't think I've ever seen anyone do an SDMR clone, given the fairly limited fielding of that weapon system.) Whereas you have the DDM4 9.5 FSP, which is not a version that was ever used by any U.S. military units, as far as I know. So I don't think that particular rail would have the same value to collectors/cloners that an early DDM4 12.0 would have. To anyone else, it's just an outdated old-school quad rail. But for DD fans, I personally think that it's nice to own a piece of early Daniel Defense history. All this to say: I don't know what your rail is worth, but probably not what it would be if it were clone-correct for a U.S. military rifle program. |

The later bolt-up version of that rail had some limited usage with the Army's 28th EOD on their CQBR's. Lots more pictures here.

You should still post it in the EE if you haven't already, and ask for a price that makes sense to you. I will consider offering you a bid. Back in the day (15-20 years ago), the DDM4 rails sold for over $300. You could probably get something close to that. |

(Whereas they do mention that the original DDM4 12.0 rail was adopted by the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit for the SDMR.) Wonder why they chose those rails and not the RIS II, which was in widespread use by the same USASOC units that they support at the time? |

Those were seen in use with EOD. |
