I lost one of the battery contacts that go inside the removable battery compartment on my 2005era 552. Its like a little foam donut with the spring in the middle. Does anyone have an extra they can send me? I did see this kit on their website (thanks to a post in this forum): https://www.eotechinc.com/511-512-551-552-contact-replacement-kit-9-nbumper But does that kit go inside the removable battery compartment or does it get installed on the base of the unit? Edit - @EOTechInc Edit 2 - Found this as well, replacement battery compartment. I called EoTech and they said this new compartment has an upgraded contact assembly inside the compartment. Hopefully no more donuts to fall out. Currently out of stock but he said they are making them and should be available within a week. Ha! I put my MacGuyver skills to work and got it fixed. Parts used: Disposable Foam Ear Plug (preferably new), Qty 1 Small Spring from free Harbor Freight AA powered LED flashlight, Qty 1 Step 1: Cut foam ear plug to approximately same size as the remaining contact that you didn’t lose (yet). Step 2: Make hole in foam piece. Drill bit didn’t work so I made a slit with an X-acto knife, then shoved a nail through a few times to make hole usable. It should resemble a donut now. Step 3: Insert small contact spring from free HF LED flashlight (or whatever you have lying around) into the “donut” hole. Step 4: Insert your new contact piece into battery compartment. Step 5: insert batteries. Step 6: Ops check! Good job, you fixed it!
