Bending over backwards to the anti-gun crowd never saves you. Colt made ban compliant guns for years before the AWB, and they lost market share to companies that didn't. Those little check boxes aren't indemnifying them from anything. All they serve to do is irritate some customers and might cause them to shop elsewhere. It's Business 101 to not irritate or alienate your customers. This is not the equivalent to filling out a 4473. You HAVE to fill that out to get a new gun. Nobody HAS to buy anything from BCM and can readily obtain what they sell from other vendors. But, let's assume that this is a binding contract. You just agreed to abide by California law even if you don't live there. California firearms laws. Ask the company that used to make Batmobiles how agreeing to abide by California laws works out. |

If we dumb this down to something everyone can understand, it is similar to putting up a "Beware of dog" sign. The sign gives legal notice and protection, and while it might not absolve you of everything, it is most certainly a valid shield in terms of liability. There is no debating this fact. |
