Hey everyone! Justin here, your friendly neighborhood gunsmith. I am bringing you the thought of the week. What do you prefer on your Firearm? A light? Or a laser? Which one would you prefer? Maybe you want both! Here are a couple of thoughts for you to ponder. First, think of the Application you are using the light or laser for. Whatever the case/application may be. Here are a couple of great options for you to consider. The Surefire X300T turbo high Candella handgun light. You can get it in either tan or black. The weapon light generates 66,000 Candela of tightly focused white light. The farthest-reaching beam of any Surefire X-Series handgun weapon light reaches a distance of 514 meters. The peak beam intensity is 66,000 Candela, with a high output of 650 Lumens. It takes two 123A Lithium batteries, with a runtime of 1.5 hours. Then, there is the Streamlight Protac Rail Mount HL-X Pro long gun light. Multi-Fuel: Uses one (1) Streamlight SL-B26® protected Li-Ion USB rechargeable battery pack; also accepts two (2) CR123A lithium batteries. High: 1,000 lumens; 50,000 Candela; 447m beam distance; runs 1.25 hours (CR123A); runs 1.75 hours (SL-B26). Now, let's talk lasers! How about the Crimson Trace CMR-206 Railmaster! Bright Green Beam - The CMR-206 offers a bright 5mW5mW peak, 515-532nm, Class 3R green laser. Green offers excellent visibility in virtually all lighting conditions. Offers 2 hours of battery life from a single 1/3N lithium battery. It also has ambidextrous controls that offer instant tap-on/tap-off activation, with a 5-minute auto-shutoff for battery conservation if the unit is unintentionally activated. Complete user-adjustable windage and elevation adjustments. Also, another good option for your rifle is the Holosun LE117-GR Elite Green Collimated laser. It comes with a QD release mount and remote cable switch. And the battery is a CR123. Each of the Holosun’s LE117 Elite Collimated Laser is constructed on a durable Titanium body and is IPX8-certified waterproof. The system is powered by a CR2032 battery and mounts to any standard Picatinny rail, thanks to the use of a quick-release mount. |
