Most gratifying. They take care of us & kids, run household world, cleaning (she wont abide a housecleaner), grocery, cooking, pets, vets, errands, shopping, nails/hair, car repair appts, on and on it goes.

Plum Gun is a tricky wicket... rare 1914 without dummy scratch or many rounds fired (the barrel is nearly perfect/matching), someone oiled this for decades to erode finish to this characteristic plum hue.

Colt 1921 Thompsons will take on this look, uniformly rubbed bluing but otherwise prime condition with minimal use has a look all its own.

The hammer sounds like a Rolex when cocking, handmade/hand fitment.

Top photo is largely how it looks in person but under true color temperature lighting the bottom coloring reveals a bit, here accentuated by lighting, these are Nikon shots.

The last year issued with lanyard loop magazines.

Distinctive General Shaver Division Remington Rand magazine with folded spot-welded spine and "G" marked toe

This 1944 Rand has no wear yet a machining fixture cut on the MSH bottom most likely a slip o' the hand

We forgive you: Nov-Dec 1944 & Jan-Feb 1945 Remington Rand produced 50,000 pistols per month for 4 straight months setting the WWII production record.

A barrel with this wear pattern can have anything from 21 (3 mags of 7 from factory acceptance proof firing) rounds to 1210 rounds depending on coincidental fitment of slide, lug, barrel, receiver.

We have a Faithful Reproduction 2001 Colt with 4 digit round count that has about the wear of this barrel. There's no predicting how it goes... you got to examine the rest of the weapon to tell for sure

The rounded rear sight notch was used on all War pistols from December 1911 to early 1942 when it was squared into right angles.

This a December 1941 Colt shipment immediately before Pearl Harbor IIRC
