The description says these can be converted to fire live ammo with "the correct pieces replaced". What pieces are needed? A barrel obviously, probably extractor, recoil spring? locking insert?

Also do you know if these are these P229 or P229-1 mag/frame size?

Seems like it could be a fun project gun but dont want to get in too over my head

Should be just the barrel. They use a necked down 9mm to keep it from being able to load live ammo. Everything else should be the same as a standard gun.

It's the extractor too.
Maybe the recoil spring assembly also.

And on my factory Simunition P226 there's an extra feed ramp piece attached to the existing feed ramp. I think it's glued on, but I don't know.

Well I ordered a barrel, extractor, extractor spring, and recoil spring so now we wait until the gun shows up and then we will go from there I guess

Hello, I know this thread is a few months old but I have a similar question - does anyone know if the Sig P226 simunition guns will convert to live fire like the above p229s? I bought one with hopes of doing the same but have not found any info on it. Thanks

I dont see why not. You will need a barrel and extractor and maybe a locking block.

Mine was a 229 dak...all I had to change was the barrel
