I still have around 70 coyote kills left from last season. However, I will keep those in reserve if I run out of future content. I do enjoy day hunting as well as night hunting. Over the next 4 or 5 episodes, I will be showing daytime coyotes. For daytime coyotes, I typically hunt a stand or two while traveling.

I named this episode Pot of Gold Coyotes because I was hunting in a brief rainstorm, and the double rainbow afterwards was amazing. I don't often hunt in the rain, but I knew it wasn't going to last long. The last coyote on this video was an absolute tank. I will be starting to show thermal footage starting with next week's episode.

This is a continuation of the previous video Hitting For The Cycle as all of these coyotes were from the same night of hunting.

I removed a total of 19 coyotes on this night hunting solo using the Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XG50 for my thermal scope and Telos XL50 for my scanner.

The key to putting up big numbers is shooting multiples. In my opinion, some things that help with multiples is good shooting, patience, and shooting suppressed. I removed lots of multiples on this night including a quint. I was using my  Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XL50 for my scope and the Pulsar Telos XL50 for my scanner.

Cold weather and coyotes just go together. I slipped into one of my favorite spots on this night and action started immediately after the first sound started. When it gets really cold, the coyotes are going to react quickly or not at all. Energy is life to a coyote.

It has been so, so cold here. We still don't have a lot of snow, but it was -15 during this hunt. I have found for my area, the breaking point seems to be around -25. If the windchill stays above that temp, the coyotes still move and hunt. When the temp plus wind drops it below that, the action slows down unless it lasts for a long time. I also believe this temperature varies depending on the state/area a person hunts. On this night, the temps weren't cold enough to shut them down. This was 2 stands from a very good night.

This video is showing how the .204 hits with 40gr hollow points. The gun's knockdown power really changed when switching bullets. I am starting to really like the .204. The Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XG60 is really, really a great open area coyote scope. The 4x base mag and PIP make it seem like the coyotes are sitting in your lap.
