Where exactly does the Mount Bracket fit to the 1531?

1. Is it on the raised lip portion?

2. Or behind it, where the housing is lower and has some raised slots? Does the Mount Bracket have slots/grooves to connect into this area of the housing?

3. Or both areas (raised lip and behind it) so it locks in?

Is the mount longer horizontally to pass over the hump of the lip, so it reaches the front of the 1531 lens to project the image?


How secure is the Bracket Ring to BNVD, are the undersides of Bracket ring clamp coated with rubber, etc., what features does it have to prevent slippage, shifting, vibrations and movement during use and if the thermal gets bumped?

What fail safes are built in the Mount Bracket to prevent marring and wearing the finish, damaging and cracking the 1531, since the housing is resin plastic, and the Mount Bracket is metal? Overtightening screw could crack housing and tube, without knowing torq size and lbs setting, tools needed, etc.


It's now December 2022 so I hope that Bracket is better than what's pictured the others were using in the old SN thread linked below. MODS if I can't link this website, please remove my post, I'll repost without link to photos, etc.

I don't want to mount the Bracket to the focus ring of the 1531, so I hope the current design has improved. I'm also looking for some detailed feedback from users who actually have one on their 1531 and if it is GTG 100%?

So in lay man's language, it's the same simple clasp of the 31a and under my kitchen sink on the hoses :)  that will scratch up my armchair commando housings, to create more "operator wear" to increase my BNVDs value during resale and be able to upgrade to SG's from TNVC.

For the 1531, to be more secure, precise and better hold bore sighting, I thought and hoped, the 1st clasp would have been molded to lock into the raised lip, and with a 2nd additional clasp, molded to lock into behind the lip, where the housing is lower with those raised horizontal grooves.

So it would be idiot proof and mount only one way- the same way, every time. With no fear that a single unmolded smooth bottomed clasp, is accidently a bit forward or back from the edges of the raised lips, during repeated installations and removals.

If it's molded to fit the lips, etc., as I would have liked, downside, then it wouldn't be a smooth bottomed clasp, so I couldn't fool around with it, and try to install on other devices, cameras, etc. just for fun., I could live with that for better fit.

I've been wondering how susceptible it is to being knocked off the BNVDs, if it takes a bump hitting my rifle rails or its mounted optics T2 etc.
