To preface, I have contacted Geissele and awaiting a response from my warranty request. So I was shooting this past weekend and my upper locked up completely. I was shooting my 11.5 (purchased from G$ in Feb, 2024. Roughly 1500rds shot through it) with fiocchi 55gr 5.56 when this occurred. Since day 1 it has had a griffin Recce5K on it. Thought it was a stuck case, so I tried grenading it several times, no dice. Bolt was stuck just barely out of battery, so I used the FA to get it back into battery and repeated the attempts to grenade it. This time bolt got stuck back about a third of the way with brass barely showing. I had to take the buffer tube off the lower to get the upper off at this point. I then used a solid rod to hit the casing from the muzzle end and finally got the bolt back enough for the perfectly intact piece of brass to come out. Once I got the bolt out, I found that the cam pin had somehow gotten wedged askew in the upper and created some large burrs in it. The firing pin in intact, so I'm not sure how this occurred, but I am not shooting it in this condition and risk it happening again. Attached File Attached File Anybody seen this before? |

The uni-directional cam pin is extremely reliable for function so we will be eager to determine what possibly went wrong. We will speak to the tech team to keep a close eye on this. |

We greatly appreciate your understanding, and look forward to getting your upper tested for you. Some of our CS team does come to SHOT Show, so we are still working on assisting everyone, but this is something critical we want to solve. Got a reply back that my upper is being replaced, albeit with a Blemula marked one because ODG is not a regular run item. I'm not worried, I don't plan on ever selling it and as long as it specs right where it matters, it'll do what needs to be done. Still don't know if they found the root cause of the issue or not. Although now I wish I had asked for a DDC upper to mate to my ODG handguard for the ultimate mix master
