@Josiah Any chance H&R can make a GI (pre WWII) M1911A1? H&R was awarded an educational contract just prior to WWII and it would be pretty cool if the current H&R company would make an all forged frame and slide 1911A1 but with a hardened slide, and since it is just before the war, blued but also a parkerized option too. H&R also made barrels for the 1911 as well. Would be similar to the Singer M1911A1 but with that sweet H&R rollmark!

PSA used to sell it's own branded of 1911, and had been discontinued a long time ago. Pretty hard to compete in the market flooded with $300 1911 with stellar reputation. H&R unlikely have any appetite to repeat its parent's history. Well, but how will I know. SAI didn't become a respected mid-tier 1911 brand overnight. Colt is the original manufacturer with better pricing power for name recognition. To be a mass-production 1911 manufacturer today, you need to price affordable to cut into fierce competition with so many good foreign imports. Others are custom builders that start out as little shops before they become big name. They have different clientele than other mass production companies. |

People will want to buy an American made 1911 over an import. H&R is a "higher end" over a standard PSA counterpart. If it is made properly (forged frame and slide) and competitive to Springfield and Colt standard 1911 models, it will do well. There has been a big upswing in standard/GI style 1911s. |
